History

2013

  1. The first investment project implemented by MAQRO Group in Georgia was the furniture factory Glorya – the sub brand MAQRO Home - opened in Adjara region in 2013. The total investment made by the company was 15 million USD.

  2. The first MAQRO Home furniture store under brand Bellissa was opened offering its customers the furniture manufactured by Glorya Furniture and other furniture brands. The total investment was 10 million USD.

2014

  1. MAQRO Group entered in a real estate market as a MAQRO Construction and started development one of the biggest residential project with 48 million USD investment - Green Budapest in the center of Tbilisi.

2015

  1. MAQRO Group’s another important step in Georgia was entering tourism sector by creating a new sub-brand MAQRO Tourism and opened a new 4-star hotel operated by an international brand ACCOR - Mercure Tbilisi Old Town with 40 million USD investment.

2016

  1. MAQRO Group completed the project Green Budapest, establishing a new standard on the Georgian market which is entirely customized to resident’s comfort and satisfaction.

  2. MAQRO Group launched the large scale residential project Green Diamond with the unique infrastructure and facilities. Total investment for the project is more than USD 120 million.

  3. The next important step by MAQRO Group was entering the new, Food and Beverage sector with the sub brand MAQRO Food, under which an European standard restaurant Dinehall was opened on Rustaveli street with 8 milllion USD investment.

2017

  1. MAQRO Tourism opened one more international brand hotel – Ibis Styles City Center managed by Accor Group with 28 milllion USD investment.

  2. MAQRO Home brought new, international home accessories and household goods brand Madame Coco into the Georgian market. Two stores of Madame COCO in Tbilisi were opened with 2 million USD investment.

2018

  1. Green Diamond welcomed its first residents by opening the first stage earlier then the promised date. 731 units and all the infrastructure are ready to start a new life.

2019

  1. Maqro Group succeded in a tender posted by Municipal Development Foundation and started a paired 3 apartment building project for refugees in Zugdidi.

  2. Once again Maqro Group succeeded in a tender posted by Municipal Development Foundation and started a paired 2 apartment building project for refugees in Zugdidi.

  3. Maqro Tourism started construction process of one more international 5 star brand hotel Swissotel Tbilisi Center managed by Accor Group with 30 million USD investment

  4. Completion of the second stage of the project "Green Diamond".

  5. Another project in the town of Zugdidi: as a result of a tender arranged by the Municipal Development Fund of Georgia, “Maqro Construction” was awarded a contract for building new synthetic football grounds Stadium in #5 Janashia St. after rehabilitation of the one in place.

    Maqro Group

    600 IDP families were provided with apartments in Zugdidi

    “Maqro Construction” LTD have finished construction of a large-scale, modern residential complex for 600 internally displaced families in the town of Zugdidi, upon request from the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia.  

    Apart from the fully complete apartments, the new residents can enjoy a well accommodated infrastructure, access roads, nice garden and children’s playgrounds. The buildings are adapted for the disabled people.

    “It was a huge responsibility for us to build a residential complex with the adequate infrastructure for the displaced community. “Maqro Construction” LTD is doing its best to contribute to the development of the country. It is even more important when it comes to welfare of refugees. It was a social project and the profit was not an issue for the Company. The happy faces of the residents were worth the Company efforts”, - Mr. Murat Avci, Director General of “Maqro Group” said.

    In total, around 1400 families moved into the residential complex in Baramia St., Zugdidi, making it possible to close down 89 collapsing buildings in the IDPs, where they used to live.

    Another project in the town of Zugdidi: as a result of a tender arranged by the Municipal Development Fund of Georgia, “Maqro Construction” was awarded a contract for building new synthetic football grounds Stadium in #5 Janashia St. after rehabilitation of the one in place.The scope of the tender:The main stadium:replacement of the grass cover with a new one;roofing the stands;lighting;internal and external engineering utilities;accomplishment works.Backup stadium:a 1200 capacity stand;synthetic grounds;installation of the sprinkling and drainage system;lighting;internal and external engineering utilities;accomplishment works.The tender terms envisage completion of the works in the next 10 months.The works are underway: “Maqro Construction” has completed fencing of the backup stadium and the heavy machinery
